Our goal is to help merchants offer local delivery and store pickup options on their cart page — while ensuring complete data privacy and compliance with Shopify's standards.

Information We Collect

When you install or use the Store Pickup & Delivery app, we may access or collect certain types of data from your Shopify store to deliver the app's functionality.

Permissions (Access Scopes) Requested

The following permissions are required:

  • write_app_proxy – To securely fetch and display pickup and delivery options on the storefront via Shopify's App Proxy system.
  • read_files – To read theme files when checking if the widget is embedded correctly.
  • read_locations – To read your store's locations (addresses, names, etc.) so you can enable pickup or delivery at specific locations.
  • read_themes – To fetch available themes and check widget embedding status.

These permissions are used strictly to allow merchants to manage pickup/delivery settings, locations, and display the widget on the cart page.

Data You Provide Through App Settings

When you configure the app, we store:

  • Pickup settings (e.g., enable location search, collector name/email fields, pickup notes, Google Maps API key)
  • Delivery settings (e.g., pincode validation mode, allowed postal codes, delivery notes)
  • Location settings (e.g., enable local delivery or store pickup per location, notification email/phone, default location)
  • Availability settings (e.g., time slots, date ranges, custom day schedules)
  • Blockout dates (dates and time ranges when pickup/delivery is unavailable)
  • Google Maps API key (encrypted, used only to display maps on the storefront)

Technical Information

We may also collect limited technical information such as:

  • Browser type, time zone, or general usage statistics (for performance monitoring only)
  • Information stored temporarily in browser cookies or localStorage for session management (e.g., validated pincode)

How We Use the Information

We use the collected information solely to provide and improve the app's features.

Specifically, we use your data to:

  • Display pickup locations and delivery options on your cart page
  • Validate customer pincodes against your allowed postal codes
  • Show available time slots and blockout dates
  • Collect collector information and notes as configured
  • Securely communicate between your storefront and our app via Shopify's App Proxy

We do not sell, rent, or share any merchant, customer, or store data with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.

Google Maps API (Optional)

If you enable Google Maps for pickup locations, you will provide your own Google Maps API key. The key is stored encrypted in our database and used only to:

  • Geocode addresses to obtain latitude/longitude for store locations
  • Display an interactive map on the storefront for customers to find nearby pickup locations

Google's privacy policy applies to any data processed via their API. We do not receive or store location data of your customers from Google.

How Long We Store Information

We retain only the information necessary for the app to function properly.

App settings – Stored until you uninstall the app.

Google Maps API key – Stored until you remove it or uninstall the app.

Session data – Deleted when the customer's browser session ends.

When you uninstall the app, all associated configuration data (settings, locations, availability, blockout dates, etc.) are automatically deleted from our system within 30 days.

If you would like to verify, update, or delete your data earlier, you may contact us directly at sales@ptiwebtech.com.

Marketing

We do not send marketing emails or promotional content without your explicit consent.

Our communication is limited to product updates, support messages, and important service notifications.

About Cookies and LocalStorage

Our app may use cookies or localStorage in your browser to:

  • Maintain user sessions
  • Improve app loading and interaction speed
  • Store validated pincode temporarily (for customer convenience)

You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but doing so may affect certain app functionalities (e.g., remembering a validated pincode).

Links to Other Websites

Our app may include links to your Shopify admin or related Shopify pages.

This Privacy Policy applies only to the Store Pickup & Delivery - PTI app.

We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of other websites or third-party services, including Google Maps.
